Career
Sahir Ali Bagga is a renowned Pakistani singer, composer, and music director from Lahore, best known for his contributions to Lollywood and independent music. He has composed music for popular Pakistani films, including Zinda Bhaag (2013), Hijrat (2016), and Tamanna (2014), and created unforgettable tracks such as "Koi Dil Mein" and "Chell Oi" for Tamanna. Additionally, he contributed to the soundtrack of the hit Hum TV drama Ishq-e-Benaam. Sahir gained further fame with his appearances on Coke Studio Pakistan, where his songs like "Yeh mumkin tou nahin," "Malang," "Baazi," "Rab Waaris," "Roye Roye," "Dhola," and "Badnamiyan" became widely popular.
Born to the esteemed music composer and drummer Amjad Hussain, Sahir was musically trained by the family of Ustad Tafu. He began his career as a drummer before joining the band Jupiters and working on music for Jawad Ahmad’s album. His career took a significant turn when the Pakistan Army adopted him as an official singer, following in the footsteps of legends like Noor Jehan. He gained early recognition for his musical arrangements on Virsa: Heritage Revived (2009-2010), where he composed for notable artists such as Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and Sanam Marvi.
Sahir also lent his voice to several popular drama OSTs, including the acclaimed "O Rangreza" (Hum TV), which earned him a Lux Style Award nomination in 2018. His lyrical contributions include the OST for the hit drama Khaani and the upbeat Punjabi track "Badnamiyan" in 2021, featuring Alizeh Shah. Sahir’s music is deeply rooted in his love for his homeland, with a focus on Pakistani raags, beats, and lyrics that celebrate the rich cultural heritage of his land.
