Career
Natasha Noorani (Urdu: نتاشا نورانی) is a versatile Pakistani musician, singer, songwriter, playback singer, voice-over artist, and ethnomusicologist hailing from Lahore. She is the co-founder and festival director of Lahore Music Meet (LMM), a platform dedicated to celebrating and fostering Pakistan’s music industry. Known for her signature "Lolly-Pop" style—a vibrant fusion of retro subcontinental music and electronic pop—Natasha has carved a unique niche in the country’s music landscape. She also made history by performing at Boiler Room's inaugural Pakistan edition, marking a milestone in her career.
Natasha began her professional journey in 2014 as part of the indie duo Biryani Brothers. Her debut EP, "Munaasib," gained recognition in Pakistan's indie music scene. In 2019, she rose to mainstream fame with her single "Baby Baby" in collaboration with Bilal Maqsood on Velo Sound Station. Her track "Choro" from her debut album "RONAQ" became one of the most-played songs on CityFM89 in 2021.
Beyond performing, Natasha has contributed as a playback singer and voice-over artist for films like Baaji (2019) and Chalay Thay Saath (2017). She has also served as General Manager for Coke Studio Season 10, overseeing Strings’ album "30", and curated PSL anthems for 2020 and 2021. Her consultancy work spans projects with UNESCO, British Council Pakistan, and Music Connect Asia.
Natasha Noorani is also the visionary behind "Peshkash," an archival project dedicated to preserving 20th-century Pakistani music. Her insights have been featured in leading publications like Dawn and Herald.
In addition to her artistic achievements, Natasha has championed social causes, including creating the song "Pyaar Banto" for Down Syndrome awareness, collaborating with artists Ali Hamza, Nafisa Khalid, Bilal Ali, and Haroon Shahid.
