Career
Kashmir (Urdu: کشمیر) is an alternative rock band based in Karachi, Pakistan, and the winner of Pepsi Battle of the Bands Season 2 in 2017. Established in 2012, the band performed at various shows across the country before participating in PBOB. The current lineup includes Bilal Ali (vocalist), Vais Khan (lead guitarist), Usman Siddiqui (bass guitarist), Shane J. Anthoney (drummer), Zair Zaki (rhythm guitarist), and Ali Raza (keyboardist). As winners of the competition, they earned Rs. 5 million, a music album contract, a series of concerts across Pakistan, and lifetime royalties on their music, with Badnaam Band finishing as runners-up. Kashmir also won the Lux Style Award for Best Emerging Talent (Music) in 2017 for their song "Kaaghaz Ka Jahaaz."
Background Pepsi Battle of the Bands aired over two months, with seven weekly episodes across television and social media. The competition concluded with Kashmir winning the trophy based on public votes, while the Sufi-rock band Badnaam placed second.
Post-Pepsi Battle of the Bands Following their victory, Kashmir released two songs, "Pareshaaniyan" and "Khwab," on May 10 and 11, 2018, respectively, on their YouTube and SoundCloud channels as part of their upcoming album.
Acoustic Station Kashmir appeared in the first episode of Acoustic Station, produced by Kashan Admani at Dream Station Productions, where they performed an acoustic rendition of their song "Soch."
