Career
Hasan Raheem (حسن رحیم; born August 2, 1998) is a Pakistani singer, songwriter, and rapper renowned for his laid-back R&B, hip-hop, and indie pop musical styles. His music is celebrated for its subtle, experimental approach, blending various genres with ease.
Early Life and Education:
Raheem was born in 1997 into a Shina family from Gilgit-Baltistan, located in northern Pakistan. He is the eldest of four siblings, with a father who served in the Pakistan Army and a mother who is a homemaker. As a child, Raheem describes himself as a "rebel" who developed a strong affinity for music. His first public performance was in fifth grade when he performed a popular track by the British-Indian group RDB.
Although he initially moved to Karachi to pursue a career in medicine, Raheem graduated from Bahria Medical and Dental College, but his passion for music led him to focus on his musical career.
Career:
Raheem began writing, recording, and releasing singles in 2018, while still in medical school. His journey into music started with his semi-acoustic guitar, blending melodies with lyrics. Tracks like "Aisay Kaisay," "Joona," "Aarzu," "Sar Phira," and "Sun Le Na" garnered millions of views on YouTube, quickly capturing attention in the Pakistani music scene. Early on, he collaborated with the popular group Young Stunners.
In 2020, Raheem won the Breakthrough Artist of the Year award at the 1st Pakistan International Screen Awards in Dubai. His big break came in 2022 when he debuted on Coke Studio Season 14, featuring on the dance track "Peechay Hutt" alongside Talal Qureshi and the Justin Bibis.
In 2024, Raheem collaborated with Indian EDM artist Ritviz on the single "Mehrbaan," further expanding his international reach.
