Career
Syed Asrar Shah, better known as Asrar, is a Pakistani singer, songwriter, musician, composer, and writer, born on April 20, 1985, in Azad Kashmir. He later moved to Hyderabad, Sindh, in 1992, and then to Lahore in 2007. Asrar developed a passion for Sufi music from a young age and began composing his own songs. He received early training in music from Ustad Sultan Ahmed Khan in Hyderabad and continued his musical journey in Lahore, where he won first place at the Pakistan Musical Conference in 2007.
Asrar’s professional career took off in 2011 with the release of his debut single "Nai Saiyyo". In 2014, he joined the popular television program Coke Studio, where he performed the song "Sub Aakho Ali Ali". His Bollywood debut came in 2015 with the track "Afghan Jalebi" for the film Phantom. In 2018, he recorded a track from Muhammad Iqbal's Bang-e-Dara titled "Tere Ishq Ki Inteha Chahta Hoon".
In addition to his music career, Asrar has established his own music production companies, Soul Speaks and Raagbaaz, and contributed to soundtracks for popular Pakistani drama serials like Cheekh and Parizaad. His unique blend of Sufi and contemporary music continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
