Career
Arif Lohar (born 18 April 1966) is a celebrated Pakistani singer renowned for his contributions to Punjabi folk music and occasional acting. As the son of the legendary folk singer Alam Lohar, Arif gained widespread recognition in both Pakistan and India, particularly after the release of his iconic song "Jugni" in 2006, featuring Nooran Lal. He is often accompanied by the traditional Chimta, a unique Punjabi instrument resembling tongs, and his music reflects the rich cultural heritage of Punjab.
Arif Lohar was born in Achh Village to a Lohar Punjabi family. His father, Alam Lohar, was a famous folk singer from the nearby Kotla Arab Ali Khan in Gujrat District. Growing up in a musical family, Arif and his seven brothers started singing at a young age, drawing inspiration from their father's legacy.
In addition to his singing career, Arif has acted in around 45 films, primarily in the Punjabi language. He starred in the film Jugni (2012), which was the highest-grossing Pakistani film of that year, and he also produced songs for its soundtrack. Arif's multifaceted career in both music and film has made him one of the most respected and beloved figures in the entertainment industry.
