Career
Abrar-ul-Haq (Punjabi: ابرار الحق) is a renowned Pakistani singer-songwriter, philanthropist, and politician celebrated for his significant contributions to music, social welfare, and public service.
His debut album, "Billo De Ghar," released in 1995, became a massive success, selling over 40.3 million copies worldwide and earning him the title of "King of Pakistani Pop."
Beyond music, Abrar-ul-Haq is the founder and chairman of Sahara for Life Trust (SLT), established in 1998. The trust has been instrumental in providing healthcare and educational services to underprivileged communities, particularly in Narowal. SLT’s Sughra Shafi Medical Hospital Complex serves thousands of patients annually, offering critical healthcare facilities in remote areas.
In addition to philanthropy, Abrar-ul-Haq has had an active political career. He joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in 2011 and served in various key positions, including President of the Youth Wing and Secretary of Foreign Affairs. He contested National Assembly seats in both the 2013 and 2018 general elections. Furthermore, in 2019, he was appointed as the 16th Chairman of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, where he played a vital role in humanitarian efforts across the country.
