Career
Abdul Hannan (born September 4, 1996) is a Pakistani singer and songwriter who rose to fame with his hit songs Faaslay, Iraaday, and Bikhra.
Born in Karachi, Pakistan, Hannan later moved to Lahore and pursued a degree in Computer Science from the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI). After graduating, he returned to Lahore and began working as a software engineer. It was during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown that he discovered his passion for music and began creating his own songs.
In 2020, Abdul Hannan made his musical debut with the single Faaslay, followed by Haaray in 2021. His breakthrough came in 2022 with the release of Iraaday and Bikhra, both produced in collaboration with Rovalio. Bikhra became Spotify’s most-streamed song in Pakistan upon release, while Iraaday gained international recognition when it was featured on U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken's Spotify playlist.
In 2023, Hannan teamed up with Annural Khalid for the duet Kehdena and collaborated with Hasan Raheem on Zaalima, blending hip-hop and pop elements. He also worked with Indian artist Zaeden on the track Kya Hua?, featured in Zaeden's album 02.
Abdul Hannan has made a mark with his dynamic live performances, including appearances at Red Bull Off The Roof in 2022 and 2024, where he performed at venues such as Forman Christian College in Lahore and FAST-NU in Islamabad. In November 2024, he headlined the "Magical Night 2.0" concert at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in Dhaka.
Hannan released his debut EP Diya in 2023, featuring four tracks produced alongside Shahmeer Raza Khan. In 2024, he made his much-anticipated Coke Studio debut in Season 15 with the song O Yaara, a collaboration with the iconic Pakistani band Kaavish.
Despite facing setbacks in November 2024, when his Spotify and Apple Music accounts were hacked and flooded with unauthorized AI-generated music, his team successfully regained control. Hannan remained one of Spotify’s most-streamed artists in Pakistan in 2024, further solidifying his place as one of the country's leading musical talents.
